At least 14 young women were hospitalized after being attacked with syringes at a popular music festival in France on June 21. A male suspect was arrested after being identified by one of the victims through video footage. Police responded quickly to reports of the incident and handed over the suspect to the National Police and Justice Department for further investigation.
Mayor François Grosdidier reported that multiple women between the ages of 14 and 20 were found injured at Rue du Palais in La Rochelle, France. Firefighters intervened promptly to provide care and created a gathering point for the victims. Another individual was arrested for allegedly slapping a young girl during the same music event.
The investigation is ongoing, with police examining the suspect’s cell phone to identify other potential attackers. It is unclear if the suspect acted alone or if there were additional perpetrators involved.
