US Bombing Damages Iranian Nuclear Sites, Experts Weigh In

US satellite images reveal extensive damage to three main Iranian nuclear sites after the US operation, Midnight Hammer. The sites targeted were Fordo, Isfahan, and Natanz.

President Donald Trump described the facilities as “completely and totally obliterated.” However, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine said a full battlefield damage assessment is needed before commenting on the extent of the destruction.

Experts analyzed satellite imagery and provided their assessments. At Fordo nuclear site, damage was confirmed with large holes or craters across the facility, but the degree of damage inside the uranium enrichment halls cannot be determined with certainty.

Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center experienced extensive new damage, with over a dozen buildings destroyed, on top of four already hit by previous Israeli attacks. Natanz Nuclear Facility saw an 18-foot diameter hole directly above part of the underground military complex after the US attack focused on the underground facilities.

Experts identified blue/gray ash as ejecta from Massive Ordinance Penetrators (MOPs) impacts, but cannot confirm what was destroyed. The tunnel entrances appear to be covered in dirt, with uncertainty over whether this was done by the Iranians or the result of the American strikes.
