IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said that a significant phase of the campaign against Iran has been completed, but the war is not over yet. Speaking during a situational assessment with General Staff Forum members, Zamir emphasized that Israelis must remain vigilant and focused as challenges lie ahead.
Israel and Iran reached a ceasefire agreement on Tuesday morning at 7:00 am, which halted significant progress made in disrupting the Islamic Republic’s nuclear and missile programs by years. Zamir praised the IDF’s performance during the campaign, highlighting successes in intelligence gathering, air attacks, and protection of the home front.
However, with the focus now shifting back to Gaza, Zamir called on Israelis to remain grounded, stressing that there are many challenges ahead. He reiterated the goal of bringing back hostages and dismantling Hamas rule. As he concluded, Zamir expressed pride in leading the organization during this critical time.
