Nvidia has officially launched the RTX 5050, a budget-friendly graphics card that puts entry-level gaming within reach of more gamers. Priced at $249, the RTX 5050 boasts 2,560 CUDA cores, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and a boost clock speed of up to 2,570MHz. This new card is part of Nvidia’s Blackwell series and features similar specs to its predecessor, the RTX 3050.
Although priced competitively with other options like AMD’s RX 9060 and Intel’s Arc B570, some consider it overpriced due to its limited performance compared to more expensive models like the RTX 5060. However, with the current market landscape, Nvidia is aiming to capture a share of the gaming segment. The RTX 5050 will be available in late July, starting at this price point.
Initially, some may find it hard to justify spending $250 on an entry-level GPU when similar options are cheaper elsewhere, but resellers might reduce prices as demand increases, potentially bringing the cost down to around $220.
