Amazon is expanding its delivery network to rural areas across the US, aiming to bring same- or next-day delivery to over 4,000 smaller cities and towns by the end of this year. The company plans to invest $4 billion by 2026 to triple its rural delivery network size.
As part of a previously announced plan, Amazon aims to improve daily life for rural customers who often face limited shopping options online. The expansion is designed to transform their experience, offering speedier and more convenient deliveries.
The move comes as Amazon prepares for its longest-ever Prime Day event, which kicks off on July 8 and runs through July 11.
