Judge Mel B said she was inspired by the performance, stating it made her smile and gave her happy vibes. Sofia Vergara and Howie Mandel also commended the band, praising their energy and Sandoval’s showmanship. Even Simon Cowell, who previously had concerns about the vocals, appreciated the band’s authenticity.
Cowell explained that not everyone comes to a talent show for a record deal, but rather to be true to themselves. He even voted four yeses for Sandoval and his group, sending them into the next round of competition. Meanwhile, Mel B dismissed the controversy surrounding Sandoval, saying “who cares?” about the scandal.
