American Airlines Flight 1665 Makes Emergency Landing in Las Vegas

American Airlines Flight 1665 made an emergency landing at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas after experiencing a mechanical issue shortly after takeoff on Wednesday. The plane, carrying 153 customers and six crew members, was heading to Charlotte Douglas International Airport when smoke and sparks were seen coming from one of its engines.

The aircraft taxied to the gate under its own power and deplaned normally, with no reported injuries. American Airlines has taken the aircraft out of service and will be evaluated by its maintenance team. The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) confirmed that Flight 1665 was an Airbus A321 and stated that it is investigating the incident.

The airline thanked its crew for their professionalism and expressed gratitude to its team for working to get customers to their destinations as quickly as possible.
