Samsung is reportedly removing the S Pen digitizer from its upcoming foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, in a bid to make the device thinner. This would require changes to the S Pen and may not be available for some time.
According to reports, Samsung has run into production issues with an “Unknown” S Pen, leading some to speculate that this could impact the availability of the stylus on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. However, a launch in New York City on July 9 is expected to bring more clarity.
The device’s slim design and the absence of a built-in slot for the S Pen have led Samsung to consider alternative ways to register stylus input on the display. If this rumor proves true, it could be a significant change from previous Galaxy Z Fold phones that supported the S Pen.
Adnan Farooqui, a long-term writer at SamMobile, will provide more insight into the matter when the device launches.
