Philips will increase prices of its popular smart lighting products, known as the Hue series, starting July 1. The company attributes the price hike to tariffs and warns that costs could rise further after the initial change.
In an email to customers earlier this month, Philips informed them that prices would increase and encouraged people to purchase Hue products sooner rather than later. Signify, Philips’ parent company, explained in a statement on its website that the price increase is due to tariffs.
The US will see higher prices for Hue products compared to other regions. The company did not specify how much the products would cost after June but noted that further changes are possible. Some Hue products are already more expensive in the US than in Europe, such as the Hue Smart Button and the Hue Play wall washer.
