Amazon MGM Studios has won the bidding rights for a live-action movie based on the popular Bratz doll line. The project is set to be produced by Picturestart and MGA Entertainment, with Kim Kardashian starring alongside Charlie Polinger writing the script. While the deal is not yet closed, sources confirm that Kardashian will play the villain in the film.
The package was highly competitive, but Amazon MGM’s ties with Kardashian make it a natural fit for the project. Last year, the studio signed an auction win for an untitled thriller starring Kardashian, following its success with the Barbie movie in 2023. The Bratz toy line has sold over 200 million dolls worldwide and boasts high social media engagement.
No plot details have been released yet. The news comes as Kardashian is on a roll, producing and starring in several projects, including Netflix’s The Fifth Wheel and Hulu’s Ryan Murphy series All Is Fair. Polinger made his directorial debut with The Plague at Cannes and will also write and direct The Masque of the Red Death.
Picturestart has produced films like Together and Theater Camp, while MGA Entertainment is represented by Kardashian. The deal marks a significant opportunity for Amazon MGM to tap into the global popularity of the Bratz doll line and follows its success with other iconic toys on the big screen.
