A 34-year-old Disney-inspired social media influencer, Dominique Brown, has died after suffering a medical emergency during a lunch event in downtown Los Angeles. Brown co-founded Black Girl Disney in 2018 with her friend Mia Von to address the lack of representation of Black women among Disney influencers.
Brown’s death is under investigation, according to reports from SFGate. The incident occurred at an event hosted by BoxLunch, where she was told there were no peanuts in her food but still felt unwell. Witnesses say that CPR was administered immediately after 911 was called.
BoxLunch released a statement saying they are “devastated” by Brown’s death and will support her family and friends during this time. Brown had recently attended the Disney premiere of Moana 2 and was known for her enthusiasm for the brand. Her friends and family describe her as a beloved member of their community, who found joy in sharing her love of Disney with others.
An investigation into the cause of death is ongoing, but it’s clear that this tragic event has left a lasting impact on those who knew Brown.
