Manchester City secured a convincing win over Juventus at the Club World Cup, thanks largely to Erling Haaland’s 300th top-level career goal. The Norway striker scored in the second half as City dominated the match, despite facing challenging heat and weather conditions.
City started strongly, taking the lead inside the first 10 minutes through Jeremy Doku’s cool finish. However, they conceded immediately after opening the scoring when Teun Koopmeiners drilled a shot past Ederson.
The turning point came when Pierre Kalulu inadvertently scored an own goal, allowing City to take control of the match. Haaland then came off the bench at half-time and played a key role in City’s success, although he initially missed from Matheus Nunes’ pass.
City’s victory was sealed with three more goals, including two from Phil Foden and one from Savinho. Juventus scored a consolation through Dusan Vlahovic, but it was too little to prevent City from ending the group stage with a flawless record.
