Google’s AI Overviews-like feature is coming to YouTube, offering a search results carousel with an AI-generated summary for select users. Starting now, YouTube Premium members in the US can see a brief video clip and relevant thumbnail images along with an AI-written response when searching for topics like shopping or travel destinations.
The new feature will display on mobile devices (iOS and Android) in English and will be available to test until July 30th. Only a randomly selected number of Premium members will gain access, according to YouTube’s support document. Non-Premium users with conversational AI capabilities will also see expanded functionality by the end of this year.
