David Duchovny Sells Malibu Home for $10.98 Million After 5 Years

Actor David Duchovny has sold his luxurious Point Dume home in Malibu, California, for $10.98 million, just days after its listing was reduced from the original price of $12.6 million. The property, which features a private beach access and stunning architecture, caught the attention of buyers who were drawn to its unique lifestyle and design.

Duchovny’s family has “outgrown” the house, according to agent Chris Cortazzo, as his two children are now older and more independent. The actor will be moving to another location in Southern California but hasn’t decided yet.

The property, designed by architect Michael Kovach, boasts a single-story floorplan and features an open-concept great room with high ceilings, smooth floors, and natural light pouring in through pivoting glass doors. The interior design incorporates modern furnishings with vintage and bohemian touches.

Other notable features of the property include a private guest retreat turned into an artist’s space, where Duchovny wrote his book and recorded his podcast. The primary suite boasts a double-vanity en-suite with a freestanding soaking tub and steam shower.

The buyer was attracted to the property’s unique lifestyle, access to good schools, and proximity to the Pacific Coast Highway, which reopened in May after a wildfire closure. Cortazzo stated that the buyer was drawn to the architecture and design of the house, as well as its single-story floorplan.

Duchovny purchased the property for $4.75 million in 2016 and spent an additional $7 million on renovations, completing the final project in 2021.
