A performer at Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show has been arrested for disrupting the event. Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, 41, from New Orleans, held up a Sudanese flag with the message “Sudan and Free Gaza” during the performance. He was booked into jail on charges of resisting an officer and disturbing the peace.
Troopers began investigating after Nantambu ran across the field with the flag, ignoring security commands to stop. The NFL says it takes disruption attempts seriously and is pleased that Nantambu will be held accountable. The performer has been banned from attending any future NFL games or events.
This incident comes after Nantambu was listed as a victim of an attempted murder in Miami, where he claimed one bullet grazed his neck during a celebrity boxing event involving former NFL player Antonio Brown.
