Lando Norris has promised McLaren will return stronger after the British driver’s title ambitions took a hit at the Canadian Grand Prix. Norris collided with teammate Oscar Piastri while trying to pass, sustaining damage and forcing him out of the race.
Norris immediately apologized for the incident, taking full responsibility for his mistake. He acknowledged that the accident was a “stupid” move but emphasized that he and Piastri have since had constructive conversations about what went wrong.
According to Norris, these talks have led to a greater emphasis on respecting each other’s space on track and not jeopardizing McLaren’s success through infighting. The driver stressed that his partnership with Piastri is crucial to the team’s overall performance.
“The trust and honesty we have for each other are essential,” Norris said. “We want to race each other fairly, hard, and on the limit without causing any problems. We’ve learned from our mistakes and are committed to maintaining a strong team dynamic.”
Norris believes that while the incident was unfortunate, it has led to positive changes within the team. He is confident that McLaren will return stronger in Austria, and he is looking forward to racing against Piastri once again.
