Arab Mediators Push for Gaza Ceasefire Amid Hostage Families’ Plea

Arab mediators and Israeli hostage families are making a renewed push for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, citing Israel’s successful strikes on Iran and a US-brokered ceasefire as leverage to convince Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to bring an end to the 20-month conflict.

Hostages from the 251 taken by Hamas remain at large in Gaza. Arab mediators claim that these hostages can be used as bargaining chips to negotiate a peace deal.

In contrast, three Palestinians were killed in a clash between Israeli settlers and troops in the West Bank yesterday.
