The 2025 MLB All-Star Game is set for July 15 at Truist Park. Alex Bregman, an injured Red Sox third baseman, has made it to phase two of voting but may not return before the game. Garrett Crochet and Aroldis Chapman are the only other Red Sox players in contention for selection.
Shohei Ohtani, leading the National League in total votes with 3,967,668, is a lock for the Midsummer Classic. His eighth-year career has seen him earn his fifth All-Star nod. Ohtani tied Hall of Famer David Ortiz’s record for designated hitters to be voted in five times.
Ohtani’s remarkable season includes a .291 batting average, 28 home runs, and 52 RBI in 80 games. He recently returned from Tommy John surgery, which kept him off the mound last season. The Red Sox take on the Toronto Blue Jays at Fenway Park starting Friday, with Bryan Bello facing José Berríos in the opener.
