San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was arrested Thursday in Los Angeles on a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Lenoir, 25, was released Friday on his own recognizance and is due in court on July 25. The team has issued a statement saying they are aware of the matter and gathering more information.
Lenoir’s arrest charge stems from penal code 148(a)(1), which prohibits resisting or obstructing public officers. He was arrested along with another individual, Marcus Cunningham, who faced felony charges related to possession of a concealed firearm in his vehicle.
A native of Los Angeles, Lenoir has been with the 49ers since the 2021 NFL Draft and has established himself as a starting corner. The 25-year-old has played 62 career games with 47 starts, six interceptions, and 265 tackles.
