Verstappen Distracted from Austrian GP to Watch 24 Hours of Spa

Max Verstappen admitted watching the 24 Hours of Spa instead of the Austrian Grand Prix after crashing out of the F1 event. The four-time world champion’s team, Red Bull Racing, struggled, with teammate Yuki Tsunoda finishing last on the road. Verstappen’s own team, Verstappen.com Racing, won the Gold Class at the 24 Hours of Spa, driven by Chris Lulham, Harry King, and Thierry Vermeulen.

Verstappen said the race was nerve-wracking for his team due to their final track limit warning before the checkered flag. Despite not following the F1 race closely, he expressed pride over the team’s ninth-place overall finish in their first attempt at the 24-hour event. Red Bull Racing, however, scored zero points, marking the F1 squad’s first scoreless weekend since Bahrain in 2022.

Tsunoda had an equally difficult day, finishing last after colliding with Franco Colapinto and receiving a 10-second time penalty. He acknowledged his mistake but also struggled to adapt to the car, which he believes is well-suited for teammate Max Verstappen’s driving style.
