China’s space agency has released images captured by its Tianwen-2 spacecraft, which is orbiting Earth and the Moon. The probe took photos on May 30 using its navigation sensor, showing the Earth from a distance of 590,000km and the Moon from approximately 12 million km away.
The images were processed on the ground after being taken by the spacecraft in orbit since its launch on May 29. China’s researchers have also been conducting experiments simulating lunar terrain in underground lava caves to prepare for future missions.
Tianwen-2 remains in good working condition, orbiting over 12 million km from Earth. The space agency confirmed that the probe is functioning properly, providing valuable data for ongoing research and development efforts.
