BMW Boosts M2 CS Production to Meet Skyrocketing Demand

BMW is increasing production of its high-performance M2 CS model due to unprecedented demand in key markets. The 2026 M2 CS has become a hot commodity, with buyers placing orders for the coupe at rates higher than initially predicted.

The M5, another BMW variant, has also seen increased demand, and the manufacturer is now struggling to meet customer expectations. As a result, BMW has had to increase its production of the M2 CS in certain markets, including the US.

“We’re seeing huge demand” for the new M2 model, said Sylvia Neubauer, BMW M’s Vice President of Customer, Brand, and Sales. The company has had to allocate “quite some units” more to meet this increased demand.

The M2 CS boasts a powerful twin-turbocharged engine, producing 523 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Its lightweight carbon-fiber body reduces weight by 97 pounds while maintaining a total mass of nearly 3,800 pounds. The car can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 188mph.

With a starting price of $99,775, the M2 CS has become a sought-after model, commanding six-figure prices from eager buyers. If you’re interested in owning one, be prepared to compete with others for a spot on the production list.
