Mike Brown Tapped for Knicks Head Coach Role

Mike Brown, a two-time NBA Coach of the Year winner, is set to become the New York Knicks’ next head coach. Sources confirmed that Brown will lead the team after a thorough evaluation process initiated by President Leon Rose following Tom Thibodeau’s firing last month.

Brown boasts an impressive coaching resume, having worked with top teams like Golden State and San Antonio under Steve Kerr and Gregg Popovich. He has coached numerous NBA superstars, including Stephen Curry, LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Pau Gasol, among others.

Despite being let go by the Sacramento Kings in December after a 13-18 start to the season, Brown was the only candidate to interview multiple times with the Knicks’ front office and owner James Dolan. He has a combined record of 454-304 as head coach, winning his first NBA Coach of the Year award in 2009.

The Knicks, who lost to the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals this past season, are seeking their first NBA title since 1973 and have not reached the NBA Finals since 1999. Brown’s appointment is seen as a significant move by the team to break their championship drought.
