Sony has released a free software update for its flagship headphones, the WH-1000XM6, and earbuds, the WF-1000XM5. The updates are available via the Sound Connect app and include several welcome improvements.
For the WH-1000XM6, Sony’s version 2.0.2 adds new features such as the “Capture Your Own Voice During Call” function, which now works across all ambient sound controls. This update also includes three new languages for voice controls: French, German, and Spanish.
The WF-1000XM5, with its version 5.0.2, gains a low-latency Bluetooth connection method alongside the existing Stable Connection and Sound Quality options. Additionally, it enhances system software security features and improves general performance.
Both updates are installed via the Sound Connect app, which recommends keeping your headphones fully charged during the update process, as it may take up to an hour to complete.
The new updates bring significant improvements to Quick Access and Scene-based Listening modes for YouTube Music and Apple Music users. They also introduce a water damage warning for the over-ears’ USB port.
These free software updates are available now, offering Sony users a chance to experience enhanced performance and features with their headphones and earbuds.
