A boycott movement targeting Home Depot, Amazon, and Starbucks is set to begin in July, with the goal of pressuring the companies to reinstate their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The People’s Union USA, a group promoting “economic resistance,” claims that these companies have scaled back their efforts since President Donald Trump’s re-election.
Founder John Schwarz stated in a TikTok video that he is organizing the boycott to bring companies “to their knees” and hold them accountable for their actions. The boycott aims to affect not only the three targeted companies but also those affiliated with Amazon, such as Zappos, Whole Foods, Twitch, and Audible.
In response, Home Depot released a statement highlighting its commitment to diversity and inclusion, citing its eight core values that prioritize respect for all people. The company believes this culture helps drive business success by supporting associates, building relationships, and fostering innovation.
The boycott is expected to last throughout the month of July. It follows a similar effort organized by The People’s Union in February, which resulted in an “economic blackout” urging people to refrain from making purchases at major retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, and Target.
