Fever Win WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Without Injured Clark

The Indiana Fever won the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup on Tuesday, beating the Minnesota Lynx 74-59 at the Target Center. Despite being without injured star player Caitlin Clark, the Fever delivered a brilliant performance, led by forward Natasha Howard who scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Fever coach Stephanie White praised her team’s ability to come together and support each other, saying “You’ve got to have confidence in yourself and your teammates to step up in those moments.” The win was impressive, with five Fever players scoring in double figures and a strong defensive performance that limited the Lynx’s offense.

The Lynx struggled to keep pace, shooting just 4-of-16 from three-point range and being held quiet by Howard, who made her take tough shots. Commissioner’s Cup final MVP Howard said of Collier, “Phee’s a great player, but my thing was, make her take hard shots, and that’s what I did tonight.”

The Fever took control in the second half, opening up a double-digit lead behind Howard’s strong play. The win marked the Lynx’s first home defeat of the season, and they vowed to learn from their mistakes and come back stronger.
