South Korea Considers Travel Ban for President Amid Martial Law Inquiry

South Korean police are considering imposing a travel ban on President Yoon Suk Yeol amid an ongoing investigation into the illegality of last week’s martial law declaration. The investigation, led by Senior Police Officer Woo Jong-soo, has already resulted in searches and seizures at the office, residence, and home of former Minister Kim Yong-hyun.

The team is questioning key witnesses, including officials from the National Election Commission and Ministry of National Defense. They plan to investigate decision-making processes related to the martial law declaration, damage to the National Assembly and commission, and police measures.

Woo Jong-soo promised a thorough investigation, stating that his team will “mobilize all available resources” to uncover the truth. The investigation is ongoing, with no human or physical restrictions on Yoon as part of an inquiry.
