Oasis fans eagerly awaited the band’s return after years of anticipation. Friday’s sold-out show at Principality Stadium marked their first performance since 2009, and it was a resounding success. The brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, delivered an outstanding two-hour set featuring their best songs from seven albums.
The concert showed that despite their breakup, Oasis’ music remained timeless. They performed 23 tracks, including “Supersonic,” “Champagne Supernova,” and “Roll With It.” Towards the end, they paid tribute to late Liverpool footballer Diogo Jota during a performance of “Live Forever.”
Jota’s brother André Silva was also killed in a car crash, prompting tributes from around the world. Oasis has become one of the latest memorial acts for the duo. The brothers will hold their funeral on Saturday morning in Gondomar, Portugal.
The tour continues in Cardiff before heading to Manchester, London, and Edinburgh, with additional dates worldwide. The final show is scheduled for November 23 in Sao Paulo.
