Yemen’s Houthis Resume Red Sea Shipping Attacks with Fatalities

A recent attack on a Liberian-flagged cargo ship in the Red Sea has claimed the lives of two sailors, according to the Liberian U.N. delegation. The incident marks the first fatalities from a Red Sea shipping attack since June 2024. Renewed clashes between Israel and Yemen’s Houthi rebels are also contributing to the uptick in maritime violence, as Gaza ceasefire talks stall.
