Jannik Sinner Suffers Knock After Wimbledon Match

Tennis star Jannik Sinner suffered an injury during his fourth-round match against Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon, forcing the Bulgarian player to retire mid-match. However, the No. 1-ranked player in the PIF ATP Rankings also left Centre Court with a knock.

Sinner hit the deck and received treatment for his elbow during the first game of the match, prompting a medical timeout. The severity of the injury is currently unknown, but Sinner plans to get an MRI scan to further analyze it.

“It was a tough fall,” Sinner said in his post-match press conference. “I checked the videos and it didn’t seem that bad, but I still felt it.”

Despite the potential impact on his play, Sinner praised Dimitrov’s performance, saying he served incredibly well and executed his game plan effectively.

Sinner will now focus on recovering from the injury before facing Ben Shelton in a rematch of their Australian Open quarter-final match last year. The Italian has won 12 consecutive sets against Shelton, giving him a 5-1 advantage in their rivalry.

For now, Sinner must prioritize his health and hopes to be fully recovered by the time he faces Shelton again.
