Naughty Dog has released a free update for The Last of Us Part II Remastered, allowing players to experience the game’s story in a new chronological order. This change lets players see how events unfold in a linear fashion, with Ellie and Abby’s motivations and emotional stakes revealed in a more straightforward manner.
The Chronological mode includes unlockable skins and trophies, as well as rewards for completing the narrative experience. Players who complete the game in this new order will unlock two new skins: Joel dressed as Nathan Drake and Tommy as Sam Drake in No Return. These skins can be used in the game’s roguelike survival mode.
The update is available on both PS5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, with bug fixes and performance improvements. The developers aimed to provide a smoother experience for players by bringing the story together chronologically. With this new feature, fans can enjoy the game’s narrative in a fresh way and appreciate the studio’s storytelling efforts.
