Marcus Buchecha Makes UFC Debut vs Martin Buday on July 26

Jiu-jitsu legend Marcus Buchecha has signed with the UFC after parting ways with ONE Championship. The American Top Team fighter will make his debut against Slovak heavyweight Martin Buday in Abu Dhabi on July 26.

Buchecha, a decorated jiu-jitsu champion with 13 IBJJF world championships, enters the fight with a 100 percent finish rate and a record of 5-1 as a professional MMA fighter. His only defeat came in 2023 when he lost by decision to Oumar Kane for the ONE heavyweight championship.

Buday, who is 6-1 under the UFC banner, will look to bounce back from his recent stoppage loss to Shamil Gaziev in December 2023. The fight marks a significant test for Buday, as Buchecha’s impressive skills and aggressive fighting style make him a formidable opponent.

The upcoming UFC Fight Night event in Abu Dhabi will also feature another ONE veteran in the main event, as Reinier de Ridder faces ex-UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker in a highly anticipated bout.
