Apple is reportedly set to refresh its Vision Pro headset as early as this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The updated device is expected to feature a new Apple M4 processor, which has been used in recent MacBook Pros, MacBook Airs, iMacs, and Mac minis.
The M4 chip offers significant performance improvements over the current M2 processor, with around 50% better multicore CPU performance and 20-25% better graphics capabilities. This should help reduce latency when displaying high-resolution images.
Additionally, Apple is working on redesigned headbands to improve comfort and reduce neck strain. The updated headset’s weight is expected to remain similar to the current model.
No pricing plans have been announced yet, but Apple has been gradually reducing prices for M4-equipped Macs in recent months. This suggests that if the Vision Pro is refreshed, it may become more affordable for consumers.
