Samsung Unveils Galaxy Watch 8 Series with AI-Driven Health Features

Samsung has launched its new Galaxy Watch 8 series, featuring a thinner design, bigger battery, and enhanced AI-powered health guidance. The Watch 8 Classic boasts a rotating bezel, while the standard model offers a slim profile.

The Galaxy Watch 8 starts at $349.99 for the 40mm version or $379.99 for the 44mm version, with an LTE option adding $50. The prices are competitive with other smartwatches on the market but slightly higher than last year’s models.

One of the standout features is antioxidant detection, which uses a sensor on the back of the watch to provide a reading of overall antioxidant levels and personalized tips for improvement. This is a unique feature that can be done at home, compared to getting it tested in a doctor’s office.

The Watch 8 series also brings improved sleep coaching, real-time feedback during workouts, and vascular load measurements while sleeping. These features use AI to analyze user data and provide tailored advice.

Other notable features include Google’s Gemini conversational AI assistant and One UI 8 Watch software, which allows users to group notifications by app and create a customized list of priorities. The Galaxy Watch Ultra will also benefit from these upgrades.

However, whether the new AI-driven health features are enough to warrant an upgrade depends on individual preferences. The price bump may be justified if the improved battery life and new features make a noticeable difference.

The Galaxy Watch 8 series is available for preorder now, with a release date of July 25. Our team will soon be testing these watches in-depth, providing a more detailed review of their performance and value.
