IDF Targets Hamas Commanders In Gaza Amid Rising Violence

Israel has carried out several airstrikes targeting Hamas commanders in the Gaza Strip, with six senior members of the militant group’s naval commando unit killed in recent months. The Israeli military said it was also investigating reports that a Palestinian had been killed and others wounded during a violent confrontation between Israelis and Palestinians.

Meanwhile, a second Palestinian died following an attack by Israeli settlers on Friday, with medics saying delays in reaching him contributed to his death. The victim, 23-year-old Mohammed Razek Hussein al-Shalabi, was shot in the chest before receiving medical attention.

In other developments, two protesters were arrested during a demonstration against Defense Minister Israel Katz’s proposal to establish a “humanitarian city” in Rafah for Gaza’s population. Doctors Without Borders warned that hunger is becoming increasingly dire in Gaza, with over 700 pregnant and breastfeeding women and almost 500 children suffering from malnutrition.

The Israeli Air Force also killed a Lebanese terrorist involved in smuggling weapons into Israel and terror attacks. The incident occurred during a strike in southern Lebanon’s Nmairiyeh area, the IDF said.

Tensions have been rising in the region, with the international community warning of the potential consequences of escalating violence.
