The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has shut down NSW2U.com, a notorious website that hosted pirated copies of Nintendo Switch games. Instead of illegally copied games, the site now displays a warning message from the FBI, acknowledging the domain’s seizure.
This move is part of a series of anti-piracy efforts by Nintendo and law enforcement agencies. Nintendo had previously taken action to “brick” new Switch 2 consoles that use piracy-enabling Flash card devices.
The seized website had ties to the Netherlands and was blocked in various European countries after being added to a EU blacklist. The domain is now gone, leaving behind only a statement from the FBI explaining its seizure under US law.
Nintendo has been waging war on game pirates for years, seeking high-profile fines and prison sentences for those involved. However, its recent approach of bricking Switch 2 consoles has raised concerns among second-hand customers and sparked a legal challenge in Brazil.
