Apple has continued to refine and update its latest operating system, iOS 26, with beta three featuring smaller changes than the previous version. The company is gearing up for the next phase of beta testing, with a public beta set to be released in July.
Among the updates, Apple has made some adjustments to make certain apps more legible, such as reducing transparency on navigation bars and tweaking notification tones to improve readability. However, this change has drawn criticism from users who feel that it’s eliminating too much of the unique transparency features found in iOS 26.
On the design front, Apple has added new color options for the default “iOS” wallpaper, including Halo, Dusk, Sky, and Shadow. The wallpapers now have more unique color differences when viewed in Dark Mode.
Control Center tweaks include brighter blue and green colors for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, AirDrop, and Cellular Toggles. iPadOS 26 also introduces a feature that makes the mouse cursor larger when shaken, similar to macOS.
The Maps app has gained support for fog advisories on offline maps, as well as improved alerts for commute delays. Safari features minor design tweaks to its folders interface.
Apple has also addressed a bug that could cause iPads connected to external displays to go into sleep mode during active video calls. A public beta release is set to come in July, offering users an opportunity to test the latest updates before they’re released to the general public.
