ELO’s Jeff Lynne Cancels BST Hyde Park Festival Appearance Due to Illness

A two-week-long music festival in central London has been cancelled after lead performer Jeff Lynne, of Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), pulled out due to a “systemic infection.” The festival, which started on June 27, was scheduled to end with ELO’s final night performance. However, due to Lynne’s health concerns, the event will now be its last.

Other performers, including Stevie Wonder and The Doobie Brothers, were set to take the stage before ELO’s headline show. Lynne had previously expressed his disappointment at not being able to perform but prioritized his health over the music.

The festival organizers have announced that ticket holders will receive a full refund and be contacted directly by their ticket agent with further details. The cancellation comes after ELO pulled out of another performance at Manchester’s Co-Op Live on July 10 due to Lynne’s illness.
