Rumors are circulating about the potential colors for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup. According to leaked images from a user named yeux1122, five base-model iPhone 17 colors and four iPhone 17 Air colors have been revealed.
However, it’s essential to approach these rumors with skepticism, as there is no reliable source behind the leak. A representative for Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
CNET managing editor Patrick Holland offers some insight into Apple’s color strategy for the new iPhones. “In recent years, Apple has leaned hard into titanium matte finishes on the back glass that match the titanium chassis for Pro models,” he says. “For baseline iPhone models, Apple tends to opt for bold and vibrant colors.”
The leaked images show the base iPhone 17 could come in black, blue, silver, purple, green, while the iPhone 17 Air might be available in black, light blue, light gold, silver.
It’s worth noting that these colors are likely to set the trend for other phone makers. As Patrick Holland pointed out, when Apple introduced titanium finishes on Pro models, Samsung followed suit with metallic finishes on their Galaxy Ultra phones.
Other rumors surrounding the new iPhone 17 devices include improved battery charging, faster Wi-Fi modems, video and photo improvements, and significant physical design changes.
