Protests against Palestine Action being designated a terror group led to over 70 arrests across the UK, police said.
Seventy-one arrests have been made at protests in London, Cardiff, and Manchester, with police charging those suspected of terrorism offences, such as showing support for the group.
The Metropolitan Police, South Wales Police, and Greater Manchester Police all made multiple arrests, with some protesters being held on suspicion of common assault.
Palestine Action was designated a terror group under the 2000 Terrorism Act after activists broke into RAF Brize Norton in June, sparking a security review across UK military airbases.
Campaign group Defend Our Juries organised the protests, which aimed to highlight the group’s activities targeting arms companies since the Gaza war began.
Critics have accused the government of misusing legislation to designate Palestine Action as a terror group, questioning whether it constitutes an authoritarian abuse of power.
