The Hisense 116UX is a behemoth of a TV that checks all the boxes for an ultimate viewing experience. Measuring 116 inches, it’s one of the largest TVs I’ve had the pleasure of testing in over eight years. But what sets it apart from its bigger-screen counterparts? Its impressive RGB-MiniLED backlight technology, which boasts an astonishing 20,000+ red, green, and blue LEDs.
This cutting-edge tech brings incredible color accuracy, ultra-sharp contrast, and purest hues to the table. Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine X, driven by Deep Neural Networks, further enhances the picture in real-time, ensuring a perfect viewing experience every time. The Anti-Reflection Pro coating on the screen reduces glare and reflections, making it ideal for use with gaming consoles.
During my hands-on testing of the 116UX, I was blown away by its performance. The TV delivered impressive SDR brightness up to 6,014 nits and HDR brightness of just over 5,000 nits. Its color gamut coverage was also noteworthy, covering 99.39% of the UHDA-P3 color gamut and an impressive 92.64% of the BT.2020 gamut.
However, there were some minor caveats to note. The TV’s input lag for gaming was slightly higher than what I’ve seen from other top brands like Samsung and LG. Additionally, the picture didn’t quite pop as much in Filmmaker Mode, particularly when it came to live-action scenes with rich colors.
Despite these minor issues, the 116UX is an absolute powerhouse of a TV that checks almost every box for home theater enthusiasts. Its massive screen size means you can fit more people directly in front of the screen without worrying about viewing angles. The Anti-Reflection Pro technology also makes it a breeze to use even with overhead lights on.
In conclusion, if you have the budget and space to accommodate this behemoth, the Hisense 116UX is an absolute must-have for any serious home theater enthusiast. With its incredible color accuracy, ultra-sharp contrast, and cutting-edge tech, it’s a TV that will elevate your viewing experience to new heights.
