Google has released its latest iteration of the Android mobile operating system, dubbed Android 15. Although it’s not a radical overhaul, Android 15 promises to enhance user experience through new features and under-the-hood improvements.
The update builds upon the existing Material You design language introduced in Android 12, with subtle UI improvements that don’t constitute a dramatic visual overhaul. However, some highly anticipated features absent at launch have left power users feeling underwhelmed.
Google’s Pixel lineup ambitions have resulted in many of the new innovations being exclusive to Pixels. The company provides periodic updates, known as Pixel Drops, which introduce new capabilities for existing Pixel smartphones instead of bundling them into the next Android release more widely.
