Apple Watch 10 vs Samsung Galaxy Watch 8: Which is the Better Fitness Tracker?

The latest Apple Watch Series 10 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic have been put through a rigorous test to see which one is the most accurate fitness tracker. The results show that both smartwatches perform admirably, but the Apple Watch Series 10 takes the lead in terms of step count accuracy.

In this walk test, we compared the two devices using Strava data and manual counting of steps. The Apple Watch Series 10 added only 83 extra steps to my total of 5,000, while the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic added 223 steps. However, when it comes to distance data, both devices produce similar results.

The latest Samsung models boast improved heart rate accuracy thanks to their new Dynamic Lug System, but from these results, it’s difficult to say whether this technology worked as advertised. The Apple Watch Series 10 also reported a higher maximum heart rate, but the difference was not significant enough to make a noticeable impact on our walking experience.

In terms of battery life, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic burned more power during the test, while the Apple Watch Series 10 calculated fewer calories burned. However, it’s worth noting that calorie burn data can vary significantly between devices and testing conditions.

Overall, both smartwatches performed well in this test, but the Apple Watch Series 10’s step count accuracy gave it a slight edge over the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. If you’re looking for an accurate fitness tracker with plenty of features, the Apple Watch Series 10 is worth considering.
