A major fire has ravaged Belgium’s iconic Tomorrowland festival, days before its scheduled opening on Friday. The main stage is almost completely destroyed, with no casualties reported.
Emergency services are on the scene but the fire is not yet under control. Staff members who were present at the time of the incident have been evacuated. The “DreamVille” campsite will open as planned, hosting 38,000 festival-goers on Thursday.
According to festival organizers, a serious incident and fire occurred on Wednesday evening, prompting the evacuation of staff and witnesses. Fireworks were seen and heard in the distance, causing concern among locals.
The cause of the fire is still unknown. Despite the setback, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby Wilmsen expressed her determination to make the festival a success, despite the loss of their main stage.
