Apple iPhone 17 Pro Models Might Get Scratch Resistant Display After All

Apple has reportedly overcome yield issues with its scratch resistant anti-reflective display layer, which could bring an upgrade to the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models. The technology, first heard about in 2024, promises a more scratch resistant coating than current Ceramic Shield, potentially improving durability.

However, the feature won’t be available on the standard iPhone 17 or iPhone 17 Air. Samsung’s latest smartphones feature Gorilla Glass Armor, which reduces reflections by up to 75% and improves contrast in bright lighting conditions.

The iPhone 17 Pro series is expected to launch in September, with rumors suggesting a redesigned Dynamic Island interface, faster Wi-Fi support, and improved display technology. Apple has also confirmed plans for new iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 public betas, which are set to be released on or around July 23.

Additionally, there have been reports of color options for the iPhone 17 series, with an internal document allegedly revealing all available colors. The Apple Watch Ultra 3 is also nearing its release date, with rumored features including satellite connectivity and a wide-angle OLED display.
