MachineGames has released the first update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which launches today despite early access starting last Friday for pre-order customers who purchased the Premium Edition. The main highlight of this patch is the addition of full-blown path tracing, a feature missing from the review build.
NVIDIA RTX graphics card owners can now activate path tracing, which offers visually impressive results but comes with significant performance hits. The game supports ray-traced sun shadows, reflections, and indirect illumination, all toggled in graphics settings. However, these features severely impact frame rates, even on high-end cards like the RTX 4090.
To mitigate this, users can set DLSS Super Resolution to Performance or activate DLSS Frame Generation. The top-class RTX 4090 remains the best choice for path tracing enthusiasts until its successor launches next month. Other updates include bug fixes and support for AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution in a future update.
Game owners on PC and Xbox Series S|X can access the update without additional cost, while Game Pass subscribers also get it included. The game is scheduled to release next Spring for PlayStation 5, showcasing its excellent adventure/action gameplay, great level design, and impressive ray-traced visuals, making it an exciting prospect for fans of Indiana Jones.
