A YouTuber named Jon Prosser sparked controversy when he claimed to have an early look at upcoming Apple operating system iOS 19, which was later confirmed by the company. However, what’s surprising is that Apple has taken a drastic step – suing Prosser and his accomplice Michael Ramacciotti for leaking sensitive information.
According to the lawsuit, Prosser and Ramacciotti allegedly hatched a plan to gain access to an Apple employee’s company-owned phone, which was running an in-development version of iOS. The employee, Ethan Lipnik, shared his iPhone with Ramacciotti via FaceTime, allowing him to show Prosser the new software design.
The incident highlights the blurred lines between rumor-mongering and actual leaks. While it’s not uncommon for Apple-related leaks to surface online, the fact that this leak was deemed worthy of a lawsuit raises questions about the consequences of sharing sensitive information.
Apple claims that the leak occurred as part of a “coordinated scheme” between Prosser and Ramacciotti. The company is seeking damages from both individuals, citing breach of confidentiality agreements and trade secret theft.
