Lynsi Snyder and In-N-Out Family Leaving California for Tennessee

Lynsi Snyder, the 43-year-old billionaire heiress to In-N-Out Burger, has announced that she and her family are leaving California for Tennessee. The move comes as the company is expanding into the Volunteer State.

Snyder cited the challenges of raising a family in California as one reason for her decision, saying “there’s a lot” going on with crime issues that make it difficult to do business. She mentioned specific incidents, including gunshots and stabbings at an Oakland location, which led to its closure last year.

Despite these challenges, Snyder sees opportunities in Tennessee, where In-N-Out plans to open multiple restaurants next year. The company has a significant presence in California but is resisting the urge to become a franchise like other big fast food chains.

Snyder also mentioned that she and her husband are looking forward to growing out of Franklin, Tennessee, and being able to spend time with their four children. She added that In-N-Out’s corporate headquarters will be moving from Irvine back to Baldwin Park, California, where the business was founded in 1948.

In an interview on a podcast, Snyder expressed excitement about the move, saying it will allow her to have a more normal work-life balance and focus on building the company. However, she also emphasized that In-N-Out is committed to expanding across the US, with plans for new restaurants in several states, including Washington and New Mexico.
