Carnival Cruise Line has officially welcomed its first guests to Celebration Key, a new exclusive destination in the Bahamas. The island features five distinct areas offering activities for all ages, including two water slides at the ten-story Suncastle complex at Paradise Plaza. Celebration Key is expected to attract 2 million visitors in its first year and generate significant revenue for the local economy.
The project marks a major milestone on the island of Grand Bahama, which has not seen significant development in over 20 years. Carnival Cruise Line’s president, Christine Duffy, hailed the destination as “a beautiful representation of our great partnership with the people of Grand Bahama.” The line’s flagship ship, Carnival Vista, departed from Port Canaveral earlier this week and will return on Sunday.
Celebration Key boasts a range of amenities, including an adult-friendly Calypso Lagoon, a family-friendly Starfish Lagoon, and an exclusive 18+ retreat at Pearl Cove Beach Club. The island is set to become a popular destination for Carnival’s U.S. homeports, with 20 ships expected to visit in the first year.
