Carnival Cruise Line is set to bring excitement to the city of New Orleans with its new island resort in the Bahamas, Celebration Key. The resort will open this weekend, offering guests a unique experience across five “portals” spread over 65 acres.
Each portal features a different experience, including white sand beaches, family-friendly games, and the world’s largest swim-up bar. Guests can also explore a Bahamian artisan market, enjoy restaurants, or relax at an adults-only club.
In addition to the new resort, Carnival has released its 2027-28 cruise schedule, which includes returning two ships to New Orleans. The larger Carnival Dream will join Carnival Liberty at Port NOLA in May 2027, offering a series of four- and five-day voyages to Mexico. This move is expected to boost tourism activity for the region.
“Carnival Dream’s return marks a significant increase in capacity, which we believe will have a positive impact on our partnership with Port NOLA,” said Carnival President Christine Duffy. The cruise line plans to offer more itineraries through April 2028, including stops at Celebration Key, Key West, and Nassau.
